in the Marquesas: Hanatefau Bay, Tahuata Island. Picture 1 - Our boat anchored in Hanatefau Bay, as
viewed from the village of Hapatoni. Picture 2 - Also Hanatefau Bay (our boat is to the
left), just a slightly different view taken from our dinghy as we motored back
to our boat from the village. Picture 3 - Tree and stonewall lined main street of
Hapatoni village. Picture 4 - Inside of the only church in Hapatoni
village. Picture 5 - The famous Cyril paddling his modern
version of an outrigger canoe.  Note the massive tattoos and long ponytail
(he is very proud of both and claims there is no other man in the Marquesas with
these distinctive features). Picture 6 - Cyril pulling out all of his bone
carvings to show - necklaces, earrings,  pendants, rings, napkin
rings, tiki, etc. Picture 7 - Machete wielding Cyril chopping
down the banana tree. Picture 8 -  Can't go too long without at
least one Pacific sunset picture. Anne  |
