Below are pictures from our stay in the lagoon of
Fakarava atoll.
Picture 1 - View from the boat in our peaceful
Tiketite anchorage.
Picture 2 - James, captain of Cleone, and young
Will paying us a visit in their car.
Picture 3 - View from the boat in the anchorage
near the tiny village of Tetamanu by the southern pass into the Fakarava
lagoon.
Picture 4 - View from the Tetamanu shore of Viva at
anchor in the lagoon.
Picture 5 - One of the small houses in the tiny
village of Tetamanu. Note the solar panels. No shortage of sun
here.
Picture 6 - The famous Norfy in the companionway of
Cleone getting a breath of cooler air while cooking a fabulous meal for all of
us in the steaming hot galley. Note the hairless chest under the
apron.
Picture 7 - Shortly before we pulled up anchor to
leave Fakarava for Tahiti, three black tipped reef sharks paid our boat a
visit. This is the same type of shark we saw while snorkeling near
the reef pass the day before. The picture is a little unclear as the shark
is under the water, but we had a nice view of all three of them from the
boat.
