Last Tuesday (9/4) we left Portland as soon as
enough water came in with the tide for us to float out of there. On our
way out, we passed by the boat they were using to drag the harbor in search of
the man that fell overboard on Sunday night. A few days later in the week
we heard on the news that they never found him and had decided to stop the
search. Ugh.
On a brighter note, we had a marvelous sail for the
few hours it took us to pass the Portland Head Light (picture below) and Cape
Elizabeth to a really nice anchorage between Richmond Island and the south side
of Cape Elizabeth.
