We continue to have wind from a proper direction, no rain, and what's this?  A positive current. Yes!  All is right with the world.  So much for the weather forecast.  We aren't complaining though - we are making good progress, trying to get south to around 5 degrees, where we will turn west, assuming the southeast trade winds cooperate.  >From there it will be a longggggggg trek westward to the island of Hiva Oa (pronounced Eva Owa) in the Marquesas island group.

To liven up the blog during this endless trek, we have decided to provide you with one semi-useless Marquesas related factoid per day.

Marquesas Semi-Useless Factoid #1:
The Marquesas island group is the farthest island group from any continent in the world.
I think this means that when we arrive there, we can truly claim that we are as far in the middle of nowhere as humanly possible on this earth (which is not all that different from the time we spent living in Murray, Kentucky).

In the meantime, we continue to get reacquainted with life at sea.  We are currently multi-tasking - sailing, updating the blog, generating power, making water and running a load of laundry.  Bet you can't do all that at home.

More tomorrow -
