Attached are a few more pictures of our canal adventure. The first two
were taken by Tony, a crew member on Storyteller (Storyteller was one of
the boats that went through the canal with us).

First is a picture of our boat at sunrise, anchored in Gatun Lake, just
after our advisor was dropped off by the pilot boat. What you can't hear
are the howling monkeys, but isn't the picture excellent?

Second is an action shot of Storyteller's advisor disembarking from
Storyteller to the pilot boat after we finished going through the last
lock. This picture shows what I was trying to describe in the last
entry...The pilot boat comes close enough for the advisor to leap aboard
(with a hand up from one of the pilot boat guys), and then backs away
quickly - never touching the sailboat. It's hard to tell in this picture,
but both the pilot boat and Storyteller are moving forward while the
advisor exchange is taking place.

The third picture was taken when my brother Bill and I went to the Panama
Canal Visitor's Center. This center is located right next to the last set
of locks, and has an observation deck four stories up, making for an
excellent overall view of the locks. We happened to arrive at the
visitor's center when the last rally boats were going through the locks.
As compared to the pictures in the first Panama Canal entry, this picture
should give you a better idea of how the boats are rafted, how the lock
lines are run from the side of the lock to the outside boats, and how the
rafts of boats are lined up in the lock.
