We've left the tropics behind for the first time in
almost a year and are making our way south toward Norfolk Island. So far
so good as the wind is cooperating and blowing nicely from the northeast, which
is allowing us to sail southeast.
The wind is moderate, the waves are reasonable, the
sun is out and we really have nothing to complain about....except that one of
our toilets plugged this morning and the holding tank overflowed into the head
(bathroom). Lucky for me, all of this happened while I was sleeping
so Don had to deal with it. The problem is probably related to the fact
that we have been heeled to starboard for 24 hours now and the toilet in
question is happier when we are flat or heeled to port. Such is life
when living at a constant tilt! Redundancy is always a plus and in this
case it's particularly a good thing that we have two toilets on
board.
Other than the toilet episode, we are doing well
and expect to arrive at Norfolk Island tomorrow (Friday) afternoon.
Cheers from our tilted world down under where the
sun shines from the north.
