We've been sailing, motoring, sailing, motoring, sailing, motoring with wind from the southeast, east, northeast, north and south under clear skies, cloudy skies, rainy skies and sunny skies.  And this is all in a single day.  The forecast did say the weather would be changeable - so it looks like the forecast was right on.

We did have a beautiful night motoring under a full moon.  The moonrise itself was something.  It started with a huge orange glow on the eastern horizon just as the sun was setting in the west, then it turned into a giant yellow globe just above the horizon and settled into a perfectly round silver white light above us.  We sailors love a full moon.  Anything that allows us to see the horizon at night is a very good thing.

Today, even with all the motoring, sailing, rain, wind, no wind and sail changes, we did manage to catch another fish.  Another mahi-mahi that barely gave Don a fight.  What is it with all these southwestern Pacific mahi-mahi?  They are all but listless.  This was a good sized female - enough to feed 10.  We'll be having some tonight and the rest is in our very full freezer.

We expect more changeable weather, but nothing out of the ordinary.  We are still planning to arrive in Vanuatu on Monday morning (Sunday afternoon for most of you).

More tomorrow -
Anne
