We continue to make good progress, although the wind has been dancing with us a bit, changing its position almost constantly - just to keep us on our toes I'm sure. At the moment we are experiencing the unpleasant full tilt roll motion associated with downwind sailing.  Perhaps this is good exercise for our abs though....we have to continually rebalance ourselves, even when sitting down.  Maybe this will become a new exercise craze...the Downwind Sail Rolling Abercizer - lose inches around your middle simply by sitting on your butt!

We celebrated crossing the half-way point yesterday with a fabulous omelet cooked perfectly by Don.  Not sure how Don enjoyed the celebration, but the night off from cooking in a moving kitchen worked well for me.

There is nothing else new to report.  No fish - not even a flying fish - no squidding incidents, no other sailboats or any other manmade floating vessels of any kind in view (or on the radar).

Now it's time for...
Marquesas Semi-Useless Factoid #9:
The earliest inhabitants are believed to have migrated by sea from Melanesia at about the time of Christ.  The population multiplied and the culture reached its maximum development from 1400 - 1790 AD.
Sailing toward the Marquesas in our own floating condo, it's hard to imagine how the earliest inhabitants of the Marquesas made it to the islands after crossing hundreds of miles of ocean presumably in nothing but a dugout canoe.  Makes us appreciate our luxury liner, regardless of the full tilt roll action.
