Another beautiful day and night sailing and
occasionally motoring over a flat sea and under a completely brilliant sky
(brilliant blue during the day and brilliant stars at night). We can see
New Zealand now and are only about eighty miles away from our destination.
We will not get there before dark tonight though, so we plan to slow
down and time our arrival so it will coincide with first light on Thursday
morning.
All is well aside from the cold. Several days
ago we finally broke out the full cold weather gear and have been using it
to bundle up each night . Last night I was sporting five layers
- thermal top, wool shirt, sweatshirt, fleece, sailing jacket. Don was
sporting four layers. It was 66.3F.
More tomorrow after our arrival in
Opua.
