Vroulias Bay (NE Corfu) Monday 9th September
We left Erikoussa at 0830 and motored to Corfu as there was no wind. With a forecast of southerlies we decided to head for the long bay that cuts south into the island to the east of the small town of Kassiopi. This bay was recommended to us by Tony and Margaret from China Blue. We arrived and anchored in 5.8 meters on the western side of the bay – lovely clear water with sand and weed covering on the bottom so we had to really dig the anchor in to make sure it was holding. This done we spent the day sleeping and relaxing – Jacky had several swims and despite the quite strong south easterly wind blowing off the beach we were secure and the sea was very flat – bliss! Later in the day 4 other yachts arrived and anchored for the night. The only disturbance was some rain in the night and the wash from the fast ferries which passed a few miles to the north about 3 times while we were there.
