Cala Portinatx Ibiza
39 06.6N 01 30.9E Thursday 21st May We left the mooring in Espalmador on Thursday morning before
0800 and motor- sailed again heading up the west coast of Ibiza for the next
anchorage, as recommended by Richard on Sealion with whom we had drinks last
night. It was an uneventful trip saw no boats or wild life but the
scenery of the coast line was quite spectacular. Tall craggy rocky coast with
off lying islands and the sea was a deep midnight blue. We reached the
designated cala around lunch time and were able to select a suitable spot well
tucked in to the bay and protected from the apparent wind. There were 5 other
boats there but plenty of room for us all. Having had a delightful swim from the
boat followed by a snorkel around to view the anchor and the fish we took the
dinghy ashore for an explore. Found the supermarket and bought the necessary
fresh supplies before returning to the boat for another swim and supper.
Unfortunately the wind dropped which allowed us to sit across the swell so the
night was not as restful as we had hoped. Moving on to Mallorca tomorrow. |
