We moved to Porto Pollo today all of 2 miles round from Lascia! This inlet is deep and curves round an island so gives excellent protection from all wind directions. We joined another 6 or 7 boats here -chose a spot and anchored in 13 metres - the deepest we have used to date. All went well and we settled in for another lazy day of reading sunbathing and swimming for me. We took the dinghy ashore to the head of the inlet to see if there was a bar or any shops but it appeared there was only an hotel/apartment complex and we couldn't get to it by boat as the end of the bay was silted and too shallow. We then motored to the sandy beach where there sun beds and umbrellas set up This proved to be the beach section of a holiday complex offering watersports activities - the accommodation was up a hill. There were some toilets which we were able to make use of and a bar of sorts in a hut, which was closed. We both had a swim off the beach - the water was like tepid bath water so even Rob went in - his first swim of the year in the sea!! We were entertained later watching another boat come in and anchor very close to the beach - a blue ensign vessel. The owners then disappeared off in their dinghy very rapidly. Whilst away the wind changed direction and hey presto the stern was almost on the beach!! various sunbathers walked out to inspect the stern but no-one actually went on board! An hour or so later the couple returned and fortunately for them there appeared to be no damage as they were able to up anchor and move further out for the night!! It continues to be very warm - over 30 degrees today.=
