Inner harbour Palermo Nixe franchise.

We hoisted the main for today's trip as their was a reasonable chance of getting some southerly wind which did materialise to help us on our 35 mile trip. In fact by the time we arrived in the bay outside the harbour we had a strong force 4 and were steaming along at 7 knots!

Our phone calls to the preferred mooring berth went unanswered so we called an alternative and were duly waved into a position on the long north facing retaining breakwater at the Nixe facility. After some problems with tangled mooring lines and the help of a very agile young marinera we eventually got our selves moored up and rigged the pasarelle for the first time for a few days. The shower and toilet facility is a bit basic (Hot water, clean but take your own loo paper!) but we have free water and electricity and we are on the right side of the marina area to walk into the old city and it's sights. We managed to get a deal at 35 E per night as we are staying more than one! We intend to explore this city and get some shopping to re-stock the boat before our friends Wiz and Watson arrive on Friday.
