Heybeliada Island (Prince's islands SE of Istanbul)
We left Atakoy Marina around mid day and motored in flat conditions through the ship's anchorage across the shipping lanes for the Bosphorus and thence to our destination.
There must have been at least 60 ships at anchor and we counted 8 heading north in a mini convoy up the Bosphorus with just one exiting.
We motored round the south of Burgazada island and noticed mooring buoys off a pleasant looking bay on the SW side before arriving at our destination - Cam Limani a horse-shoe shaped
bay on the south of Heybeliada. being a Sunday it had several boats anchored but it was a large bay and we soon found a good spot to drop the hook. Most of the boats left before dark and it was just ourselves
and two motor boats there over night. A very good anchorage with all round protection accept open to the SE. We spent a couple of nights here re-charging our batteries after the hectic schedule of sight
seeing in Istanbul. The Islands are lovely - such a shame that the day-trippers feel the need to leave all their rubbish lying around on the beaches for the sea-gulls and crows to pull apart!
