Port de Chantereyne Marina, Cherbourg

TC is back in France ~ final :( courtesy flag went up ~ after a straight-forward 7 hour journey from Guernsey. The Alderney Race was pretty tame with neap tide under us and wind in the same direction as the flow of the water, I don't think we even got any splashes over the deck. It was satisfying to watch the speed increase as the tide changed but sadly we didn't beat John B's record with 'only' 10.3 knots spotted on the GPS!

It was pretty dull for the children as it was chilly and grey on deck. Harry had the fishing line out but caught nothing, he said he saw dolphins but they didn't come near.

We were alongside by 6pm so with plenty of day light left as fortunately alongside the Marina here is a vast expanse of grass so we dug out the boat footie and kites for an hour or so of running about.

Two nights here with a planned visit to the world's biggest ?? Carrefour tomorrow!
