Thank you Susie in Oz and Alexander for your thoughts ~ that photo was of a grain store! There are several in town and they look very out of place amidst the newer buildings, presumably up high to keep the rats out.

There was 6 inches of rain in the dinghy this morning, last night there was tropical rain for hours, quite incredible, yet TC was snug and dry thanks to Bol's handiwork on keeping the portlights water tight.

Isabelle learnt how to make bread today and loved kneading the dough, she did a good job and the buns were delicious at lunchtime.

Our new neighbour, Leo, anchored nearby on his 1947 Folkboat came aboard for supper, the children enjoyed his tales of sailing from Falmouth to here without an engine, and more recently no GPS. Very impressive and a totally different concept to being able to turn the engine on when the wind dies, or if you want to get somewhere quickly and catch the tide before it turns. We watched him when he arrived sculling his way to his final anchor site with a 15ft sweep. He has kindly invited us back to his to look at the wood burning stove he installed, Bol had spotted the chimney when we rowed past yesterday!

Windy day, wet evening, F8 due tomorrow.
