Alvor

We are starting to look at next weekend's weather forecast and holding our breath, if there are southerlies Thursday's Child will have a good sail north, if there are northerlies Thursday's Child has some hard work ahead!

It was useful to have the chance to do a food stock-take in readiness for being at sea. We bought some tins at Morrisons in Gibraltar so these are now at the top of the cupboard as we can't picture chopping onions if Thursday's Child is bashing her way into head winds.... perhaps we will be lucky and only time will tell.

Interestingly there is a north-westerly sea breeze blowing in here from the Atlantic around 2pm daily, it lasts until about 8pm and is an exhausting and steady 20 knots. However, it did provide a fun time for the kite again and gave Harry some good exercise in trying to keep standing upright.

Isabelle all the while played happily with the dozens of sand beetles which kept appearing from nowhere.

Tonight is our last night in Alvor, we are rather taken with the place and pleasantly surprised to be the only visitor in the anchorage.
