Marina da Lagos

We were proper tourists this afternoon and took a ride in a Tuk Tuk. It was officially a reward to the children for being so good on the sail from Sines and as today was the first day without rain we thought we'd best make the most of it.

Bol and Harry were interested in the engine which was electric, the chap can do 100km on one charge and each night just plugs it into his electricity socket in his garage to recharge.

Our journey began around the historic part of Lagos, and then we found ourselves back at the lighthouse at Pta da Piedade so we revisited the grotto caves, they were were more dramatic this time as it is nearly springs and after a few days of southerly wind there was an impressive swell booming in and out of the caves at high water. We also drove to the more exclusive side of town housing the spa resorts and beautiful beaches that people flock to in the summer. Our driver said it is difficult to move from June to August, we were the only ones about in late November!

Nice to have lunch in the cockpit for the first time since arriving in Lagos!
