Alcoutim/Sanlucar, River Guadiana

This morning we left TC in the cool early hours after sunrise and climbed uphill to the Castillo de San Marco, the impressive Fort above Spanish Sanlucar. It was chilly at 7am but roasting by 9am and we were rewarded by lovely views all around. The River Guadiana could be spotted both south and north of us, winding its way through the valleys.

The Fort was closed but we walked right round it then spotted what we thought was a look out which turned out to be a zip wire facility reaching right across the River Guadiana to Portuguese Alcoutim. Amazing! It wasn't running sadly, but perhaps just as well as you have to be 14 years old to take part ~ we'll have to return in 6  years time so both children can do it.

Bird song, lavender and blossom scent filled the air ~ definitely worth getting up early to see.

And as yesterday;
Do you, or anyone you know, have 2-3 weeks available to do some spring sailing?  We are looking for a seasick-proof safe pair of hands preferably with offshore experience to help us sail back from the Algarve to St Malo at the beginning of May. If you are interested and would like more information, please could you email the boat at sadlertc {CHANGE TO AT} gmail {DOT} com. Expenses paid. Thank you.
