Bol and Lewis had an expedition over the border today to get some more Camping Gaz as it is a lot cheaper in Spain. Lewis kindly lent Bol a bicycle so the trip was quite quick. We often wonder about having bikes on board but conclude that four bikes on TC would not fit and cycling wouldn't be very safe to do with the children, and certainly not here in Gibraltar where everyone seems to drive quickly, badly and aggressively.

It was a beautiful afternoon for an expedition to Europa Point (not quite the most southerly point in Europe ~ Spanish Tarifa is slightly more south). It was windy, bleak and beautiful with the dramatic Rock to the north of us, and the Straits of Gibraltar leading to Morocco to the south.

There were plenty of significant things to see; a Mosque built in 1997, Gibraltar's lighthouse, the only one outside of the UK regulated by Trinity House, Harding's Battery, and the very moving "Sikorski Memorial" in memory of the Polish Prime Minister in exile who died in a plane crash in 1943 near the point.

Fortunately there was a cafe so we could enjoy a cuppa tea and soak up the entire scene 360 degrees all around us. We were impressed to see signs that the University of Gibraltar was 'coming soon'. What an inspiration spot to do your studies.

En route we visited the Old Naval Hospital, now houses, and saw Margie's stomping ground in the 1980's.
