Sines

Our fourth full moon of the trip is due to rise any moment (although sadly it is currently behind clouds).

On the north side of the harbour there is a chimney with an enormous flame leaping skywards indicating where the oil refinery is. Sines is Portugal's largest commercial port; oil and gas one side, coal and container port to the south of us. You wouldn't guess as the anchorage and marina are tucked well out of the way.

Lego was helpful in school 'maths' today as Bol went through 'volume' with the children, nothing like building a solid lego rectangle to illustrate. We spent the afternoon on the beach and inspired by their Frozen Planet DVD, Harry and Isabelle built Adelie penguin nests out of rocks. There followed a rather quick swim, quick because Harry began to get nipped by small fish with sharp teeth!

They are now playing lego again and there is currently a magic sense of calm on board (rare, but getting less rare!). TC is ready to go to sea early in the morning because we have an 80 mile journey tomorrow and if we leave early we should get in before midnight, aiming for an anchorage in Lagos.
