Salcombe looks such a fun and interesting place, definitely one for exploring more at a later date. For now we are aiming to get to the south of the Bay of Biscay by mid-August so can't hang about too long in these beautiful spots. With that in mind, we left Salcombe and turned right towards Plymouth. Once around the corner we found some wind and had a glorious sail letting 'Geoff' the Aries wind vane have a go at steering.

The enormous safe haven of Plymouth enabled us to sail well into the harbour before anchoring near Drake Island and letting the children have their run ashore. They are doing very well on board, surviving/enduring the 4-5 hours each day as we day hop down the coast, not easy when they are normally running around a lot to be confined either to the saloon, or tethered to the deck. 3 weeks without land is going to be interesting for us all as we cross the Atlantic in December, but we have a few months to go til we get to that point in time!

A beautiful sunset and a calm evening on board with diaries, electronic gizmos, books and cars keeping everyone occupied. We have a bag of games, boxes of pens & paper (makey doey), books, a few DVDs, fishing gear and a few toys to call upon for passing the time, and then of course all the wonderful audio books sent from the cousins for when things get a little tippy on board!

We've been on board a week now, we're all doing well and TC's a happy ship.
