Friday 25th July; after a pleasant walk ashore in Dartmouth we moved up the river to a very peaceful anchorage. The local stream train keeps chugging up and down the river bank hooting its horn, and after a swim and a row ashore, team Minchin are starting to settle in this new life. There is a lot of stuff on board and it is a struggle to remember where everything is but the important things like swimming goggles, peanuts, biscuits and hot chocolate are always to hand. Kids doing well and seem to be enjoying themselves and so far their evening diary writing seems to be enthusiastically tackled, sitting by candle light in the cockpit recalling the days events with words and pictures.
It is a deeply rewarding feeling to know we are now underway and we are so very lucky that the weather is being utterly perfect, what a great start to our trip.
