Muros

The storm raged from midnight last night, through the day, and is still howling now, Saturday evening. We shudder at the conditions at Cape Finisterre only 11 miles from here when we see how wild it is here in protected Muros Harbour. It all seems so much more real when living on a boat and relying on ropes tied to pontoons tied to the land.

However, it looks promising for calmer winds tomorrow and we'll aim for La Coruna 95 miles away. We are anticipating a really big swell so will make sandwiches at breakfast and brace ourselves for a very bouncy passage. Perhaps a couple of days in La Coruna and see what the week brings, we are getting our heads around 3 days at sea and it will be good to get underway finally across the Bay of Biscay.

So today has been relaxed with some boat admin and a little exploring. Hans got chatting with a delightful local and they are pictured here both looking out to sea and scowling at the weather....

We must apologise for the fish photo we took in Nazare. It would appear that the Thursday's Child was rocked by the wash of a passing fishing boat just when the photo was taken because we think, upon closer inspection, that the fish must have swung towards the camera, making it appear slightly larger than it was.

It actually weighed 2.1lb and was 15inches long.......... and is photographed again here with Fred.
