Victoria Marina, St Peter Port, Guernsey

Sunshine at last and beautiful visibility across the straits to Herm and Sark, we could also see Jersey off to the SE.

More WWII learning today! We walked along the seafront past the seawater bathing pools to La Valette Underground Military Museum. It covers all aspects of Guernsey's history, mainly focusing on Guernsey's military history, including WWI, the German Occupation 1940-45 and the island's Militia. The air-conditioned tunnels were built by the Germans as a fuel storage facility for U-Boats and were painstakingly restored between 1986 ~ 1988, they now give a fascinating glimpse into former Guernsey life with some eerie Nazi memorabilia as well as posters & press cuttings indicating what life was like during the Occupation.

Back into the sunshine was welcome.

This afternoon Bol was super-dad and undertook both the new Airfix models with Isabelle beginning her Mosquito and Harry his Mustang.

And a Pancake Tea Party to finish the day with Pat and Trevor to wish them well on their cruise to Brittany.  Harry and Isabelle are delighted with their wooden solitaire THANK YOU!

One more day here and considering leaving on Friday.
