Port de Plaisance, Ouistreham

Not quite our last day in Ouistreham!

Harry woke in the night and very astutely commented "there's a lot of wind outside". The gentle rustling of the Poplars around the marina which we have found so soothing this last week are now all bending wildly; the wind that is getting through the tree barrier is making the rigging whistle ~ both very un-relaxing sounds!

After checking the Shipping Forecast and finding F5-F7 due in the Channel for the next few days, an unexpected increase from the perfect F3-F4 which was forecast yesterday, we made the quick decision to stay put, put the kettle on and settle down for a few more days in the marina here.

We took a walk to the shore to find a wild scene of kite surfers and wind surfers jostling for position amongst the breakers, a dramatic and very different to the peace and quiet this last week. But with sand filling our eyes, we didn't stay long and headed back to the sanctuary of TC and got stuck into the next Swallows and Amazons, "Secret Water".
