La Coruna

We have had a very relaxed day today, all quite tired but delighted with the decision to be here for two days as it has been howling again, as forecasted, a full blown gale. Similar due tomorrow.

However, once TC was secure, we had a lovely walk around the outskirts of the city, following the path to the Torres de Hercules lighthouse, the oldest lighthouse in the world dating back to Roman times. As per the photos, the route today took us through a park with curious shaped stones...

It was fun to look down at the entrance of the huge natural harbour in daylight and identify the lights that had led us in. It really was an incredibly special arrival last night with the old Roman lighthouse and the Castillo de San Anton both beautifully lit, which together with the other lights that flashed and glowed all around were backlit by a full moon. The harbour was totally flat as the wind had died to nothing and the lights reflected in the water. Magic.

Tomorrow will be more boat admin to get TC ready for going to sea.
