Falmouth

A final weather check last night showed 3 knots of breeze for Monday, so we moved from St Mawes over to Falmouth for one night to await the 10 knots promised for Tuesday. Nice relaxed day ashore doing ‘boat admin’ before rewarding ourselves with an hour at the National Maritime Museum. There was a Surf Exhibition celebrating 100 years of surfing in Cornwall, very apt as there are surfer dudes everywhere you look. Great views from the top. No visit to Falmouth is complete without a visit to Trago Mills….. the Falmouth equivalent to a nautical Hurst. We’re surrounded by people doing final preparations before heading off on their adventures, everyone seems to have a plan to do something exciting this summer. Plenty of head scratching to do our route to Penzance; getting out of here in time to get around the Lizard at slack water in time for the lock to be open at Penzance.
