At anchor off the Ilha da Culatra, Faro

It was a beautiful sunny morning and I dug out my dive tank to clean the bottom for the forthcoming trip back to the channel. Thankfully, the visibility was OK and after a month in the fresh water of the Guadiana river we only had slime on the bottom. While I worked under the keel and lower hull Jojo scrubbed the waterline and as far below as she could reach using just her snorkel. TC should now be much faster and we are chuckling to have saved 246 Euros for a haul-out :)

Meanwhile, the children held down the hammocks in the sunshine and then Harry got out his fishing rods, so that we could do some fishing from the dinghy. Sadly, we didn't catch anything, (ham for lunch not fish). More fishing in the afternoon was equally unsuccessful, despite being tormented by fish jumping all around the boat during the day and fish setting off the depth alarm at night as they swam just under the hull.

A new calamari lure was christened in the sea this evening and the alarm has been set for an early start tomorrow morning as Culatra is supposed to be an excellent place to catch them. We will see....
