We puttered around the corner to Roscanvel for although the gale force 8 may only be nearer SW force 5, we thought we'd seek shelter as we would have been quite exposed to the swell anchored in Camaret.

It was an interesting two hour journey passing fortifications at every headland, to make things more dramatic a submarine slunk past us and a helicopter kept buzzing overhead. Fortunately, once at anchor things calmed down and we were soon ashore and alone for a delightful BBQ of steak kebabs, chocolate bananas and marshmallows, doesn't really get much better than that in my book. Harry thought a flatter beach with all his football buddies might round the evening off perfectly but the rest of us were quite contented!

Sadly a starfish got caught up in the anchor chain in Camaret, but it give the children the opportunity to look at one close up.

All calm tonight, and more exploring tomorrow. Probably in this area until Monday at least.
