Anchored in Portimao entrance

It was nice to return the favour and let Lewis and Theresa's lines go this morning, as they had done to us in Sines. We were sorry not to have overlapped for longer ~ such is cruising ~ when the wind blows from the north, you've just got to go! It is a beautiful night now so hopefully they are fully moonlit to the Canaries.

A pleasant sunny day in Portimao with lunch in the cockpit, unthinkable a few days ago. Harry and Bol went fishing off the harbour wall and received some useful hints from a local. Harry then prepared some lines for tomorrow's 35 mile journey to Faro as we have decided to move on making the most of the gentle northerly due in the morning. We came out to anchor at the entrance around tea time and had the most fabulous sunset. TC is now rocking very gently in the wash of fishing boats entering and leaving the harbour, it is much more peaceful at anchor than in the marina as the mooring lines creaked and squelched all night. Can't quite put our finger on it, but we're quite taken with Portimao.

Attaching some snaps of the last few days in Portimao and Alvor.
