Port de Plaisance, Ouistreham

We saw a poster in a shop window advertising "Guided Tours of Ouistreham by Brigitte" so this morning we met up with her and had a very enjoyable guided walk around Ouistreham. We saw some parts we hadn't visited before and got chatting with some French soldiers, she was very interested to hear about Bol's Pa and asked for as many stories as he could recall.

At the French 4 Commando's Memorial, we commented on how much smaller the Union Flag was compared to the French Tricolour and coincidentally within a few minutes a team of men came to change it saying the size had been a mistake and they were here to put a bigger one up. However to their horror they unpacked a Norwegian flag ~ we left them scratching their heads and working out what to do next but it needs to be corrected for the Ceremony tomorrow!

For some light relief, Harry and Isabelle did some Go Karting :-)

A breakfast picnic is packed and the alarm is set for 6.30am as we would like to be on Sword Beach first thing tomorrow, then there is a whole day of celebrations here in town.
