Spring time up the River Dart
050:21.23 N 003:34.24 W For years when the anchor alarm has sounded indicating that TC is possibly dragging, Bol has had to get out of bed to check the screen at the chart table. However, he is very chuffed as he has put the “Open CPN” App on his tablet that lies next to his pillow. One squeak from the anchor alarm and he can check it without leaving his pit! More boat maintenance this morning, this time Bol stripped down the 2hp engine to find the fuel had turned to gel which was why it wasn’t running. All good now. A glorious walk ashore this morning in the spring sunshine with great views all round. Not sure if it was a fledgling blackbird or wren that joined us, but it was very small. After a quick cuppa at the Anchor Stone Café passing on David Temple’s best wishes to the owner, this being his stomping ground in the past, we headed back to Dartmouth, hugely relieved that the engine remained under 70 degrees. The weather finally looks quieter so we plan an early start, excited about moving on west. |
