Still chuckling to ourselves that we are really here. We can't quite take our eyes off 'the Rock' with its circling screeching seagulls, union flags fluttering everywhere and piecing blue sky above.

We are beginning to get our bearings and have had a few walks ashore, and over the next few days we will try to find out where Margie and John Clarke lived when they were here. There certainly seems to be plenty to do here and to explore, such an interesting historical place. Today we were standing in 'Main Street' when we heard a drumbeat and marching and someone shouting "make way". Then an hour later this spectacle (photo below) came back in the opposite direction.

The plan for the great 10th birthday tomorrow Sunday is to go to the top of the Rock and find the Barbary Apes, although we are slightly concerned that taking our picnic might lead to chaos amongst the tribe there!
