A rough old day

Close to Colon now, after a bumpy ride yesterday to this achorage at Isla Linton: the only really good shelter along this part of the coast. Contrary to the weather forcast the wind was blowing all day from the wrong direction, with frequent very windy squalls. In order to make the anchorage before dark (no lighthouses out here!) I had to motorsail all the way. Slept really well last night, and just a short trip later today to Portobello: yet another proud outcrop of Spanish Colonialism, which came under the close scrutiny of the Wretched English Pirate Francis Drake. Portobello has roads and cars, and is about 15 miles fron the Panama canal entrance at Colon.
