After an adventurous passage from Saint Lucia we reached the island chain of San Blas, which stretches north of Panama over 30 miles parallel to the Caribbean coast and consists of thousands of small and large islands.

With coconut palms and tropical fruits as well as fragrant flowers, a paradisiacal picture shows itself to us daily.

We use this few days, before it goes further direction panama canal to recover but also to explore the underwater world and to get to know the few people living here, who make from few them available resources, placemats, bracelets and carved items to sell to the passing boats.

The chain of islands is overrun by coral reef, which simply invite to be discovered.

With every day snorkel excursion we discover new things. The numerous fish seem to enjoy our presence and practice their curiosity with sometimes careful approaches.

We enjoy the garden of the sea, which seems rather foreign to us with its enormous variety of living creatures.

We are overwhelmed by the diversity of flora and fauna that is presented to us, and yet we recognize the suffering coral world that seems to be tragically unstoppable.

Only with the necessary respect to the environment, next generations will be able to appreciate this pearl of our planet and become one with nature.

Our contribution to a sustainable approach is to pick up waste that floats by, to support the local population and to treat nature with care.

The few days here on San Blas will be fond memories and we look forward to eventually returning in the future.
