50:36.43n 2:27.18w Well, last Thursday we moved round to Weymouth harbour so family and friends could come and see the boat and say 'Bye' easily. It's been lovely, a steady stream of people spending time with us and wishing us well. Thank you to everybody for taking time out of your busy lives to come and see us off. We've had a baby being bathed in a bucket on the pontoon, had the pleasure of an Admiral (thanks John!) checking us out from pulpit to pushpit, as well as some total landlubbers disconcerted by the small movements of boat in harbour (it wasn't that rocky Duncan!). We've made countless cups of tea and shared wine and beer. A lovely, busy, sociable time. The harbour is a super place to spend some time, fishing boats coming and going around us, people promenading up and down the harbour, plenty to watch as we enjoy the company of people we love and care for. (P.S. We didn't really sail across the top of the Nothe Fort as the map suggested!) |
