Title: Doing the Hokey Cokey

           32:32.9S 175:29E

You put the big sail in,
The small sail out,
In, out, in, out, you shake it all about,
You do the hokey pokey and you turn around:
That's what it's all about!
Oooh, the hokey cokey,
Oooh, the hokey cokey,
Oooh, the hokey cokey,
Knees bend, arms stretch, pull, pull, pull!

Variable is the word for the the last 24 hrs. Winds from every point of the compass, and complete calm at times too. Swell ranging from 3 1/2 meters, happily we were able to take these bow on, down to hardly 1/2 meter in the middle of the high pressure area. We've given up writing in the log each time we tack or gybe or when we furl and unfurl the jib. It happens too often.

This may shock you, but we've even started talking about getting an electric furler...

Knees bend, arms stretch, pull, pull, pull!

Food

Day 7: granola with yoghurt, banana and pineapple; fish and chips (mahi mahi baked with pepper and lemon); tuna and aubergine lasagne - made before we left on passage and frozen thanks to the wondrous new refrigeration pump Julia brought out for us!

Day 8: Bacon and fried tomatoes with toast; fish cake and salad (tuna and mahi mahi mix); sag aloo with left over pumpkin, coconut and cashew curry (using up the greens, potatoes and tomatoes before we get to NZ bio-security!)
