Return to Deltaville

Nimue

Before we returned to Deltaville, we had been invited to an OCC Pot Luck evening at Wolfgang’s (OCC Annapolis port officer) at their home in Crab Creek.  After another 38nm motor to Crab Creek, we had been warned about a very interesting entrance with the red and green marker buoys at right angles to each other.

We managed to correctly negotiate the tricky entrance and anchor with the other OCC boats in this delightful anchorage.  A delightful evening and fish supper.

We couldn’t miss a final trip to Annapolis , where we were entertained on Nychea for dinner.

The following day, a lovely sail in beautiful sunshine for the 44nm trip to Solomons, where we anchored in the same place as we had 18months previously.

After a noisy night on anchor from the nearby Tiki bar, we left early in cold (20C!!) and hit choppy seas and tide against us.  We managed to sail for 4 hours and get round the prohibited military target zone area, before the wind died and we had to motor across the Potomac River and the rest of the way to Deltaville.  After completing the 54nm trip just after 1800hrs, we moored Nimue on her usual slip at Zimmermans.
