Last sail of the trip - to Sant Carles de la Rapita 26 Sept

Nimue

The final day's sail of our 4 month trip was a delight.  We sailed most of the 42nm to Sant Carles de la Rapita in bright sunshine in Force 3/4 winds.  Sant Carles is situated in the Ebro Delta and in an inland lake blocked off to seaward by a spit formed from the wash-out of the Ria Ebro (thus well protected from swell, although can be subject to the tramontrana (NW gales coming down the Ebro valley).
It seemed really wierd to think we had arrived at our final destination for the winter and no more passage plans etc for a while.  We were also excited at the prospect of staying in one place for a while and extremely satisfied that the two of us had successfully made a safe passage of over 2500nm since leaving Falmouth, UK in June.  It goes without saying that we loved being on Nimue; she was brilliant and handled everything well!
