We walked around the streets of Charleston admiring it’s uniqueness and splendid buildings. Every block in the Historic District overflows with architectural interest, resulting in a fascinating collection of classic Georgian, Federal, Adamesque, Greek Revival, Italianate and Victorian buildings.

These houses are located on Charleston’s High Battery and have incredible views of Charleston Harbour

During the month of December Christmas historic homes are swagged in garlands.

These ‘Single houses’ were built sideways, narrow end to the street, to better catch the summertime cross breezes in the days before air conditioning. The street door leads not indoors, but to a two-story, open piazza (or porch). From there, the inside is reached by a centre hall.
