Yesterday we hired a vehicle (with a driver) and did a tour of the island.  We went with our Australian friends who are living on a yacht called Whitehaven.

Our taxi

First stop was the Old Hegg turtle sanctuary where there was one big turtle called Busybody, who was the owner's pet:

There were also lots of smaller turtles:

There were also some tortoises, which Alice held.

We stopped for lunch at the Crescent Inn on Industry Bay, where there was a great view South to Mustique.

View from the table where we ate

Pip and Emma enjoyed sitting in a seat between two palm trees:

We had wonderful views of the island, in particular its coastline.  Here is a view of Admiralty Bay, which gives some idea of the number of yachts that have assembled for the Christmas period.

We went to a place called Old Fort, where there was a lovely bar and guest house - we stopped for a drink

Charlie and Rob enjoying some rum punch

The children liked the hammocks:

The gardens were beautiful, with lots of colourful tropical plants

Pip is now missing both front teeth
