Tuesday 26th May 2015. W3 chilly but not as wet. 6 hours, 20.5nm. 5 engine hours. Water temperature of 6C in the loch!! Very important not to fall in. Pottered along the canal and through Lochs Lochy and Oich with wind on the nose as the mountains moved it around through the glens. Frans put the hardware back on the cockpit table which he has restored over the winter. Hope it eventually gets warm enough to sit outside. We had hoped to get to Fort Augustus but Linda the Kytra lock keeper told us there was no room so we stayed at the peaceful Kytra again this year. As the cook is unwell the galley was closed so we had to walk the 3 miles each way along the canal to Fort Augustus for a pub meal. It didn’t rain though and the waterside was very pretty with bluebells, broom and lambs. Kytra in splendid isolation |
