Tuesday 29th July 2014. Light wind, bright and sunny. Engine hours 4.4, 27.7nm.

No delays so straight out onto the lake. Not enough wind to sail so we motored to the string of islands/rocks stretching north/south down the lake. There is only one fairway through these skerries when you are transiting east/west so we chose an anchorage close to the fairway. It was busy with other boats and even a ‘houseboat’ which looked like a large floating container with a deck around and a roof terrace. It had a jet ski with it which the Dad hoisted onto the deck when he’d finished giving all the kids evening rides. It then set off late evening…the next day we knew why as it was blowing a hooley.

Had a cool swim after dinner, took the soap in with us to multi-task just like the natives. Not totally native you understand as we had our swimmies on.

Last lock on the Göta Kanal.

Our anchorage - the houseboat thing is on the shore
