Hi All,

A good sleep had by all last night after our big day out. The anchorage here is a classic islands anchorage, with coconut trees, grass huts, steep plunging hills, and roosters crowing. It has been a nice spot.

Today Bruce and Marg off "Summer Soul" organised a two hour tour with a local teacher (John). Accordingly, eleven of us climbed aboard his ute at 1030 for what was supposed to be a two hour. At just on four o'clock we diembarked the ute back at the dinghies having driven around the rim of an extinct volcano (track width only - a 400m drop down either side), four schools, a hot pool, the local shop, and the runway at the airport. The latter was the smoothest ride of the trip, as we drove up and down the runway at 100 kmph habging on for dear life as the ute swayed ubder our load. Around here it pays not to think too much about the potential downside of some activities....

Tomorrow we will make the short 10nm sail across to Asanvari on Maewo Island, where the ICA has organised a cultural festival. More feasting and dancing, hopefully they don't have an equivalent to the Canoe dance we saw everywhere in the Louisiades. As for Island feasts, not sure we can face another one of those!

Will let you know how it goes,
