Grace: Today is Papua NewGuinea's national Independence Day. Earlier we went to the school on the other side of the island to see the children performing the traditional dances. The girls were wearing short grass skirts with a reath of pink frangipanyis on their heads with strings of more frangipanis that criss crossed over thier bodies. The boys were wearing what looked like grass underpants (which looked like a permanent wedgie!) with wreaths of yellow frangipanie on thier heads. We are about to go ashore to have a barbique with the locals. Dad just came back from a boat called Outsider 'cause he was helping to butcher the pig that they bought. Anyhow I'll type more after we get back to the boat..
