Dear All,
We have finally wrested urselves from the cluthes
of the Opua Marina - good time to go, the Bay Race Week has just started, so
there are yachts and racing yachties everywhere. Our plan is to sail down to
Tutukaka tomorrow on the favourable westerly winds which are forecast for
tomorrow. The Bay of Islands will have to wait until later this year, or even
next.
So far we are having a great time; we have visited
all of the local sights, including the Waitangi Treaty House and the historic
"Stone Store" at Keri Keri. They are both among the oldest buildings in the
country at about 165 years.
The weather promises to be a bit wet over the next
few days, but we plan to make our way down to Bayswater Marina in Auckland by 27
Jan, to catch up with our friends John and Jeanette Crighton and their
family.
Until tomorrow, TTFN.
