Hi All,

Yesterday (Monday) we departed the marina late morning amazed at the change in the weather - at 0200 Cate and I were up making sure the boat was all secure from the driving rain and 40 knot winds, and by 1000 the sun was shining and the sea calm as if nothing had happened.

We sailed out to Kumutoto Bay which is quite close to Picton, and picked up a combined cruising clubs courtesy mooring in a nice cove on the western side. Shortly after our friends from the Marina (Troy (dad), Anna(mum), warren(granddad), Caitlin(10) and her little brother (8)) rafted up alongside and we had a pleasant afternoon swimming (5mm wetsuit for me!) and generally enjoying a awesome spot. Will post some photos when we get decent internet coverage.

After dinner we introduced our kiwi friends to "Taboo" and it wasn't long before we had them yelling in the finest traditions of a McD games event (Ange - there is some serious competition out there...).

This morning (Tuesday) we will make the passage across Cooks' Strait, hopefully arriving at Chaffers Marina in the middle of downtown "Willingtun" by late afternoon to settle the boat in before the Great Jimmy Buffett Road Trip of 2011.

Until this afternoon, TTFN.
