Still in Tauranga - it was a wet, very windy day so we decided to go to the movies, where we saw the "Voyage of the Dawn Treader" - we thought it a really well-done movie, quite faithful to the C.S.Lewis original, and probably the best of the movies so far. One of the best bits was the scenes from White Island, a still active volcano off the coast near here which we will be sailing past on our next leg.
We spent the afternoon having a chinese smorgasbord lunch (thanks for the recommendation lonely planet!) and went for a longish walk around downtown Mt Manganui as the rain lifted to overcast.
Tomorrow we will have a maintenance morning before we head out to anchor in Pilot Bay at the base of the mount to await a suitable weather window to make the overnight passage to Gisborne.
