Hi All,

Another great day in sunny Nivani Is - we are having a great time enjoying the natural beauty of the place and learning from the locals how they live. This morning we did some school, and then all of the kids in the anchorage and their parents went snorkelling on the sunken Japanese Zero here in the lagoon.

After lunch we worked alongside the locals helping them to thatch the roof of the hut they are building for the rally. It was pretty cool learning how to thatch a roof panel from coconut palms and then how to fix the panels in place using bark twine made from a local tree. Towards the end of the afternoon the work ground to a halt and we all sat around, Dims Dims and locals alike and ejoyed the afternoon sun.

Fishing score today - one small (30cm) barracuda caught and returned - too small.

Tomorrow we are going across to the Panapompom elementary school to witness the PNG Independence Day celebrations. Once they heard all the yachties were coming, they adjusted the time later so we wouldn't have to depart the boats at 0645!

Happy Birthday Bryce (for today) and Brian (for tomorrow).
